OF HEBDEN WHO DIED NOV. 17th 1849.
AGED 50 YEARS.
ALSO OF SUSANNAH HIS WIFE WHO DIED
JAN 8th 1857 AGED 47 YEARS
ALSO OF ANN DAUGHTER OF THE ABOVE
WHO DIED MAR 28th 1845 AGED 17
YEARS.
No more I view your forms so dear.
No more my loving parents have.
Their voice no more delights my ear,
Hushed in the silence of the grave

Notes

The poem at the end of the inscription is a slightly modified verse from William Howcroft's poem "The Graves of my Parents" published in 1842. Howcroft was a Primitive Methodist poet born in Hambleton, Yorkshire.

Their granddaughter Faith is commemorated on the neighbouring memorial.
