1894 6" Ordnance Survey Map of Hebden Township (south)
This map is the second edition of the 6" OS mapping of Hebden, the revision being undertaken between 1888 and 1890. It was published in 1894. The surveyor was John Bennett, and he moved into the village with his wife Elizabeth, and his three sons for just under a year. Their two elder boys attended Hebden School.
Points of interest compared with the previous edition are that the moors are now enclosed, Grimwith and Mossy Moor reservoirs have appeared; and the mining industry in Bolton Gill has come and gone.
