1853 6" Ordnance Survey Map of Hebden Township (south)
This map was the first OS mapping of Hebden, the survey being undertaken between 1848 and 1850. It was published in 1853. The map for the northern part of the township may be found here.
Items of particular note are the absence of Mossy Moor Reservoir (built about 1854), Grimwith Reservoir (built 1856-1864, the lack of enclosure walls (built 1857-1860), and the lack of mining activity in Bolton Gill (begun about 1855).
